Here is the promised activity especially for Juniors.

Last week we learned about  Absalom and David.  We discussed how David was mourning the death of Absalom even though Absalom caused so much pain.  David forgave and promoted peace to bring unity to his people. God is the source of ALL peace.  How did you live as a child of God and promote peace?

Your special activity is this.  If you can email me (ikim@calimesasda.com) a short story (at least one paragraph) of how you promoted peace and brought unity in a situation this week there will be a special reward for you this Sabbath.  You MUST submit your story to me via email or your parents facebook by friday night at 7 pm.

Hope all of you will share your story with me.

Practice times for Children’s Choir Performance

Friday night 5:30 in the sanctuary.

Sabbath:  Performance late in First Service and Earlier in Second Service!

Hey Kids!  Todd and I had so much fun singing with you in Sabbath School last week.  We were blown away by your awesome voices!  I can hardly wait to hear what’s in store next week after you have learned all the words!  I know there is another song on the CD (“Happy Day”), but that song is NOT going to be for this performance.  The only songs we are singing are “I love you Lord” and “This Little Light”  There are NO hand motions, but there is much clapping and moving while we sing about our little lights.

“This Little Light”: (song 1)
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!
OH, this little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine,
let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Let it shine for you and me, I’m gonna let it shine!

Everywhere I go, I’m gonna let it shine!

This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!

I Love You Lord. (Song 2)

I love you Lord
and I lift my voice
To worship you,
Oh my soul, rejoice!

Take joy my King
In what you hear
May it be a sweet sweet
sound in your ear
Repeat 2x

Thanks everyone!  See you next week, but in the mean time….listen to the CD!

Happy Autumn Choir kids!
We have our first choir date of the season coming QUICKLY upon us…. November 7.  If you were at church last week, you probably got a CD, but may also have some questions.  Yes, I know that one song has some African lyrics, and NO we will NOT be learning Swahili.  (I had a hard time finding the song in an arrangement that I liked in English….)  “Oh Happy Day” will be mashed together with “This Little Light of Mine” to make one song.  I hope that these songs will fill you with joy as you listen and learn them this week.  Our second song is one some kids may already recognize, “I Love You Lord”.  It will begin with a solo, then be repeated 2x by the choir.  See below for the lyrics as we will sing them.
I look forward to hearing your gorgeous voices on Sabbath!  You fill my heart with joy and I know as God hears your songs to Him you will be putting a smile on his glorious face!

I love you Lord
and I lift my voice
To worship you,
Oh my soul, rejoice!

Take joy my King
In what you hear
May it be a sweet sweet
sound in your ear
Repeat 2x

Sincerely,
Teachers Rhonda, Todd, and Euni
