On Tuesday April 21 @ 5pm, the Adventurers will be taking part in their monthly service project by caring for God’s creation by sprucing up the church grounds with new life! So Adventurers, please bring your work gloves, work clothes and get ready to play in the dirt! We’ll plant flowers, clean up the grounds, and maybe even plant a tree!
On Wednesday April 22 @ 12:00PM (change of location! Krikorean in Redlands), I would like to invite those that are not in traditional school, and their friends to a special field trip to watch Disney’s Earth movie. “It’s a story of three animal families and their amazing journeys across the planet we all call home. The film combines rare action, unimaginable scale and impossible locations by capturing the most intimate moments of our planet’s wildest and most elusive creatures.” Please respond to me (Isaac) by Monday Night and I will try to order tickets for us.
Pine Springs Retreat This Weekend

I am excited as this is my first PSR retreat as the young families pastor! There are so many creative and wonderful things planned for you this weekend. But most importantly it’s a time to hang out and relax in a mountain setting! Things get underway with dinner on Friday Night. This years theme for our children’s ministry is “following Jesus” and is being led as usual by Mary Quishenberry and Pastor Ken. For our parents we are exploring the theme “outside these walls” as we further develop our church’s focus of loving our neighbors during the next two years.
There is still room in our lodge and in cabins to take part in a wonderful family weekend at Pine Springs Ranch.
Hope to see you all there. If you cannot join us, we’ll miss you. There will be a worship service at 11:15 at church but there will not be any Sabbath Schools.
Take Part in National Volunteer Week

This week is National Volunteer Week where we are reminded to get involved in the serving others. For many of us involved in church, volunteering is just part of who we are. We serve others all the time through our various ministries and I say “THANK YOU”!!!

National Volunteer Week is a great opportunity to spend quality time with our kids and model for them how to Love People in a tangible way. If you decide to take part in volunteering this week email me your pictures and I’ll post them on the website!
If you need some ideas here are a few from a great website The Volunteer Family
Ideas that are related to the environment (Earth Day is this Wednesday).
- Help clean up shore around lakes, beaches/coasts, river (I know that Crystal Cove State Beach always appreciates trash pickup)
- Clean up litter on the street, in a park, at your church
- Weed in a cemetery or park
- Use more energy-efficient light bulbs
- Work on a community garden or farm
- Clear trails
- Start a compost pile
Ideas to do at home:
- Make cards for people who may be feeling lonely or might need their day brightened. A card or short note is a nice surprise to receive in the mail on any occasion.
- Clean out your closets and give away clothing, toys, and games you do not use or need to disadvantaged families.
- Write letters and send care packages to troops living abroad.
- Write letters and send care packages to students away at college or who are living abroad.

During the months of January and February our Children raised over $2000 for our mission trip to Roatan! In church today we showed a video of our friends Elissa, Zach, and Maddie hard are work building the bookcases we raised funds to build for the Diamond Rock SDA Church and the Camp Bay School. Here is the result of your hard work!!!
As many of you also know, the Kindergarten Class was the winning class and we will have a special party to celebrate on Sabbath May 2 during Sabbath School, so make sure you are at church that day.
