Archive for March, 2009

It was with shock and inexpressible sadness that I spoke with Maggie on Monday evening March 23 from Honduras.  Her strong faith and love for Jesus was evident as she shared with me her love for family and the loss we cannot even begin to understand.

I’m not sure that there are any words that we can share to ease the pain, but the family has expressed such appreciation for the outpouring of support and prayers they have received!

Here are some details that some of you may already know.

Pullen Family

PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE FOR THE MEMORIAL SERVICE HAS CHANGED
The Memorial Service for the Pullen Family ~ Michael, Vanessa, Sydney and Christopher will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 11:00 at Fairmont Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 730 South Fairmont Avenue, Lodi, 95240

With the help of financial expert, John McCann, a charitable gift fund has been set up for the Pullens. All donations will be used for the Galt and Lodi SDA Elementry schools. These gifts are tax-deductible as charitable contributions, and a tax-receipt will be issued. All checks should be made out to “The Michael Pullen Family Memorial Fund,” and mailed to the following address:

Pullen Memorial, P.O. Box 314 Lodi, CA 95241

These gifts will be used to assist in the operational expenses for both the Galt and Lodi SDA Elementary schools where many happy memories were made for their family. This is another way that their love for God, learning and service can live on.

Jacobson Family

There will be a memorial service for the Jacobson family – Erin and Amy, Taylor, Ava and Jude – at 4 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Pacific Union College Church in Angwin, Calif.

Statement from the Jacobson family: “We are heartbroken and empty at the sudden loss of our beloved Erin, Amy, Taylor, Ava, and Jude, as well as family and friends in the Pullen and Ching families. Our hearts go out in deep sympathy to Mrs. Summerfield, the Feldkamps, and the Mautzes, in addition to the Pullens and the Chings. The outpouring of prayers and support from family, friends, colleagues, patients, and community has sustained us during this ordeal; we offer our grateful thanks. As we go forward, we will treasure the priceless memories and celebrate the unique goodness of each of our dear, beloved lost ones.”
– John, Judy, Paul, Brenna, and Winston Jacobson

I know that many of you and your children are friends of Luke Cotton who is celebrating a birthday this week.  There will be a birthday party for my friend Luke on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30pm.  This is a time to thank God for Luke and celebrate with him.  The party will be at the home of the Morans in Redlands.  Lukes friends are invited to come.  If you have any questions regarding the party please call or email me and I’ll be happy to share the details as I know them.

Please continue to pray for the Cottons and Feldkamps during this time of sadness.
